Short Stories

I mostly only write poetry, but recently I’ve been taking the step to focus on some short fiction. In the past I’ve written short stories and I’d like to share them with my readers here on the blog. Please note that most of these stories were written for classes in college and had a prompt behind them. Also, they were forced, for the most part. Not that that should be an excuse for them not being great work, but well…I’m still learning the ins and outs of writing an enjoyable story. Near the bottom you’ll see some of my more recent attempts. They’ve been in erotic flash fiction, and I think that’s where I’ve found myself most comfortable for now.

Feel free to comment on what you like or dislike. Constructive criticism is always welcomed in the comments. After all, it is what helps a writer grow.

Enjoy 🙂

  1. Hey Robert, followed your guidance to your flash erotica and short stories so far. Man, I’m really into male erotica writers at the moment, making it a bit of a study in my erotic education, all so different yet… (am working on a piece discussing sub genres, differences in styles and freedom of the indie author still researching, hence the ellipsis)
Your approach, especially in flash fiction is perfect. I’ve read a good deal of your poetry – which I enjoy (From Where I Stand I dip into regularly) – but this side of your story came as a wonderful eye opening surprise. Particularly liked Closing Time, it had a Chandleresque rhythm to the action, rapid fire dialogue and description left me breathless, and I easily suspended my disbelief in such a freaky sexy scene. I’m currently on holidays in Borneo, hanging out with the old headhunters and orangutans and of course getting a lot of reading and writing done. Looking forward to Breakfast In Bed.

Special mention to Nikki Haze and Nicole Ryan, adore their blogs and their erotic inspiration – they keep all our creative fires burning.
