Themed Recommendations: Halloween Reads

Halloween is almost here! Do you have your costume ready? Ready to go door to doo…wait, we’re book people. You may be staying in on Tuesday night to read instead of trick-or-treating. You might need this list:

Here’s a list of some books with Halloween inside them. Rather than a list of horror novels, which would be easier to come up with (click here), these books involve Halloween, whether it’s horror, mystery, romance, or more!

As usual with these lists, they’re all thanks to followers on Twitter. Couldn’t have come up with all these without informative friends.

Themed Recommendations: Weddings in Books

I’m getting married on Saturday. Because of that, I figured I’d bring back the Themed Recommendations series again to get some easy content on the site. Turns out, this week’s theme wasn’t very easy to put together.

I picked the obvious theme of “weddings” in books. While there are thousands of books with weddings, soon-to-happen weddings, etc, there are almost too many too weed through. As usual, I recruited Twitter followers to help me narrow down the list to books that might be more worth reading than randomly choosing them. I hope this list is adequate for all of your TBRs to expand from.

As always, comment with your own recommendations on this theme. I’m sure there are many books out there worth checking out.

Themed Recommendations: Random Poetry from my Shelves

I have a  very random list of poetry books for you today. And by random, I mean I literally pulled books off of my poetry bookcase without really looking at them. When I felt I had a good number, I stopped.

You’ll find a few that I’ve read in there. One’s one of my all-time favorites. One’s a more recent favorite (and the poet has a new collection coming out soon!) The rest I’ve skimmed through or more. I think you’ll find something you enjoy.

Also, now that poetry month is over(ish), I hope that doesn’t mean you’ll stop reading it. This is only the beginning of poetry appreciation. Try to keep exploring. There’s so much out there!

One last thing before the list: If you’re in need of some poetry and on a tight budget, you can get my chapbook Winter’s Homecoming and Other Poems for free until tomorrow. It’s been free all month, but I think two people took advantage of it. Maybe some of you missed the announcement. So there’s your reminder. Click the title to find the book. There’s a coupon code right there on the page to make it free.

Themed Book Recommendations: Big List of Romance

I’ve been doing these Themed Book Recommendations posts for awhile now. I hope you enjoy them. I do. And I enjoy the reader input I get from making them. That’s why, again, I’ve enlisted the help of any reader who wanted to help expand this list. Turns out there’s a lot of romance readers out there (heavy on the sarcasm, we know it’s huge!)

In the past, I’ve posted lists of various Romance subgenre recommendations. Today’s list is a little different. I wanted to have books from Romance in general to give everyone a variety of genres, hopefully decades of publication, and authors. And also, Tuesday is Valentine’s Day!

So sit back, enjoy the list, and hopefully you’ll end up discovering a book you enjoy up loving. And please, please, PLEASE don’t hesitate to add to this list by commenting with your recommendations!

Themed Book Recommendations: Bloggers’ Best of 2016

January is coming to a close, and with it, we can start looking forward to the rest of 2017…Ok, many of us probably aren’t looking forward to the year at all at this point, even after how 2016 went.

For today, I want to dwell on 2016 just a little longer. Sound like fun right? Don’t worry, it will be fun. I’ve gathered a list of best of 2016 books from other bloggers and I’d like to share them with you. You’ve already seen my two best of lists (books and stories) earlier in the month. I don’t think your TBR lists have expanded enough from them. That’s why I’ve asked bloggers to send in their lists to give you more recommendations.

If you have a blog with a best of 2016 list and would like to share it, please comment on this post with a link. If you don’t have a best of list, but have a blog you want to share, comment with a link to the blog. Today is all about spreading the love of books!

Holiday Reading Recommendations!

First, Happy Chanukah. Second Merry Christmas. Third, Happy Everything and Anything Else.

I’m going to keep my message here short. I put together a list of almost 50 holiday themed book recommendations. The list may grow if anyone wants to comment with their own recommendations! I’ll add them in as I see them. Most of these are Christmas books/novellas/stories. There are a few Chanukah ones. There aren’t nearly as many Chanukah stories as Christmas ones. PLEASE tell me more if you know of them.

You’ll see a few have reviews linked with them. Those I have read/reviewed (obviously). Most of these are just on my radar and some made it to a holiday wishlist I made this year. They’re all linked to Amazon, so I’m sorry for those who need other store links. 99.99999% of all book links clicked on my blog is the Amazon link. We all know how they book world is.

And now that I’ve rambled on enough, here’s the list. I hope you find many great books to read!
