It’s the second day of April and the second day of Poetry Month! Just in case you thought yesterday was just an April Fool’s Day joke, it wasn’t. I really am going to have a month full of poetry here on A Life Among the Pages.
To help spread the joy of poetry for today’s post, I’m happy to let Susie Clevenger take over. I may find it stressful (and fulfilling) to put together this month long event, but it’s nothing compared to what Susie is taking on for April. But she’s inspired me to at least attempt the challenge.
What challenge is that? Keep reading to find out! And if this isn’t enough for you, Susie will be back two more times this month.
I can’t believe it’s been four years. Yes, this is my fourth year to participate in National Poetry Writing Month’s thirty poems in thirty days. Why do I participate? I enjoy the challenge. Yes, it is hectic, stressful, but it prompts me to be more observant, dig deeper into creativity, have an opportunity to be part of a movement to bring poetry to the forefront of human interaction.
I will be visiting the Imaginary Garden With Real Toads for inspiration for my month of poetry. I would urge you to spend some time in the garden. There are some remarkable poets who stop in and link their work there. The following poem is a glimpse into how I feel about writing in this month of poetry. To read today’s poem visit my blog http://confessionsofalaundrygoddess.blogspot.com/.
Note from Rob: Please do take some time this month to check up on Susie’s progress with the 30-in-30 challenge. I’m sure I won’t make it far in my attempts. It’s definitely a feat to admire and support. Maybe you’d like to try it yourself?
One more time, the link to read Susie’s poems for this month is HERE.
