#NewRelease: Illusion, by @TheSMBoyce

The Saga Con…

…cludes today with the release of Illusion. It is with much sadness and even more excitement that I announce that my favorite book series, The Grimoire Saga, is now over. I’ve been following Kara’s journey to bring peace to Ourea since early in 2012 when I first started regular blogging here on A Life Among the Pages. I know I’ve brought this series to many of you out there and maybe you’re an emotional mess along with me.

Back in 2012 I read and reviewed Lichgates, which is the first book in this series. It was originally a planned trilogy…but it wasn’t long after that S.M. Boyce realised this story was too big for three books. The trilogy turned into a four book saga and we all were able to push our sadness of the impending end back a little. Treason (book 2) and Heritage (book 3) only added to my love of the series and anticipation for what the final book would bring. Then what happened when I got my hands on an ARC of Illusion? Well, it blew my fucking mind! That’s a simple statement about it, at least.

Before I let you scroll down to read more about this new release that I’m all eager to hear your thoughts on, I’d like to assure fans that this isn’t the last we’ll see of Ourea on  A Life Among the Pages. Not only will I never stop talking about Boyce and her work (be it Grimoire related or new projects) but there are more tales to tell about this beautiful and dangerous world. The Ourean Chronicles will be the next MUST-READ series for me, with three books releasing about a year from now. I can’t wait!

If you’re not ready to jump into this last book yet, you can find links to the previous books below, as well. I’d also like to direct you to my reviews of all four books if you’re interested in seeing what is in store…

The final chapter in the war for Ourea ends with blood.

Kara Magari is an icon. A hero. The people love her. The royalty tolerates her. She has everything—an army, allies, and a close circle of chosen family. They believe she will end the war, and they shouldn’t. She’s as scared as they are. She just can’t show it.

The war she accidentally started ends with a final battle that will either save or enslave her people. She will do anything to win—until she learns the cost of victory.

Braeden Drakonin is afraid of what he’ll become when he takes over his father’s kingdom—that much authority can change a man. But his father has already tried to kill him more than once, and it’s time to end his reign. Braeden’s armies are ready. His strategy is foolproof. His generals are waiting for the order to attack. It’s only in the final seconds before the battle begins that he realizes he missed one crucial detail—the traitor. (description from Goodreads)
