ELEMENTS – The Before World Series
After apocalyptic storms, Sara finds herself forced to live separated from her family, inside the castle which belongs to the newly imposed monarchy run by The Rosen Family, due to a deal made without her knowledge.
Sara is armed with powers she did not know she possessed; bearing the mark of a mystical tattoo that everyone is interested in, and is haunted by dark dreams that seem more like premonitions.
Determined to figure out what is true, what is real, and if magic exists again. She must navigate through the lies and deception, while she explores the question of love. Could her first love be her true love? Or will his Jekyll and Hyde personality push her away?
Join the 19-year-old Sara in this: sci-fi, futuristic, romantic fantasy… in the name of love, loss, and magic.
They continued to argue about her in front of her, like they had discussed her fate at dinner. She quietly picked up a sword again. Then she walked up to them. “I challenge you, Thomas,” she said casually. “Seems to be what you are afraid of.”
“Sara, I don’t want you to get hurt.” Thomas replied tilting his head.
Sara got into a stance and waited for him. “Give him a sword,” she commanded in a low voice. Forbid me. She clenched her teeth.
Samuel pulled his own from his sheath and handed it to Thomas. Sara noticed he bowed as he handed it to him, his own brother.
“No Sara, I won’t,” Thomas said standing the sword on its tip. She swung around nearly knocking it from his grip with her sword. She raised her eyebrows, daring him. Her jaw was set as her eyes narrowed. Anger pulsed through her veins. She was livid.
He pulled his sword up. “Sara, I really cannot fight you,” he repeated.
Which made her angrier and she swung again and again. Each time he deflected. “You can decide my fate; when I’ll marry. Talk about me, right in front of me at dinner. Forbid me to do something. And even the two of you could still stand here,” She pushed him back, using her blade against his and Samuel caught him. The whole conversation was amusing Samuel. Sara could see him suppressing a smile, laughter perhaps. “Talk about what I can and cannot do?” She continued her rant, as she and Thomas were sword fighting. Thomas thought he had her until she did a flip and Samuel clapped for her. “I am not a china doll. A puppet you can command. I may be young.” She continued. “But I am not stupid. You are all hiding something. And I am definitely going to figure it out.” She swung around knocking the sword from Thomas’ hand; it clattered and skidded across the floor. “You went easy on me. You hardly fought back at all.” She was disappointed.
“Even so, you’re a natural.” Thomas admitted. “I didn’t want you to do this because of your dream. Don’t you understand?”
“Maybe if I could defend myself,” Sara retorted. A sad looked came across Thomas’s face. “I’m still waiting for an apology.” She placed a hand on her hip, pursing her lips.
“For what?” Thomas laughed arrogantly. “Trying to protect you?”
“Samuel, are all of you men so infuriating?” Sara handed her sword back to him, shoving it at him. “Thomas don’t bother coming to my room. I can find my own way.” She stalked off.
