Title: A Touch of Dance
Author: J.T. Craig
Rating: 3/5 Stars
“Austin’s wife is a beautiful dance instructor and he is convinced she is having a steamy affair. He finally decides to hire a private eye to look into her sex life, because he is dying to know the truth, or is he?” (description from Goodreads)
A Touch of Dance has a pretty good idea behind it. I found the story to be interesting, though the execution didn’t play out well for me.
For the most part, the flash fiction length worked for me, but it also lead to me feeling that some parts were rushed through. The ending was one of the rushed sections, in my opinion. I feel that the rest of the story was leading up to and enjoyable conclusion, but then it was all wrapped up too fast, in too telling of a manner.
Despite being rushed, the authors of this story have a good basis for an expanded story if they were to revisit this. It might help me, and possibly other readers, to feel for the characters a bit more and to understand their motivations more than what’s seen just at the surface level they is given.
