For All You Entertainment Needs: Justin The Mystifyer

This post is going to be a little different than most of the things you’ll see on A Life Among The Pages. That’s because the following can’t exactly be found among any pages. OK, to be honest, it technically can. The following is a little bit about a great webshow I know about, so in that sense if can be found among the web pages.

__________

Justin The Mystifyer is a talented magician and illusionist. Yes, you read that right. He has been practicing the art of magic and doing illusions for a number of years and is making quite a name for himself.

Along with being a well-known magician, Justin is the host of Mystifyed Live. This is a weekly web show that brings viewers the best of  established and up-and-coming entertaininers in many disciplines. Guest regularly range from fellow magicians, escape artists, and a variety of musicians.

I first found out about Justin and his web show from my college roommate Corey Martin. Corey is now the co-host of Mystifyed Live. In recent months I have tuned in on a number of occasions to witness the hilarity and informative nature that the hosts and guests have to offer.

One of best shows I have witnessed actually happened last night. Most of the guests are connected to the main show through a skype call. As all who’ve used Skype know, a good connection and good equipment (mic/camera) are necessary. But even if you have these mishaps occur. Last night for instance, the guest’s video froze on a picture of his sock (don’t worry about what his sock was doing there). It was hilarious because the viewers could continue to listen to all the audio, but could only see a sock. This goes for the hosts as well. Even though they were cracking up, the show still went on, and the ability to roll with the unexpected is a great quality this show has.

Some of the musicians that have been guest on this show have blown me away. They I have seen a variety of genres represented from country to pop to rap. I’m amazing at the talent I’ve seen Justin bring on to this show week after week.

This show isn’t only about having fun and getting to know more about the entertainers. Justin the Mystifyer and the Mystifed Crew are active supporters of Autism Awareness. This is a common topic on the show and adds to each show. Recently a new segment has been created in which time is taken out of every show to share an autism story. Justin leaves this open for anyone who’d like to share, whether it’s a regular viewer, a guest, or someone just stumbling upon the show for the first time. If there’s a story about someone who has been directly touched by autism in any way, their story is given the chance to be told.

This is one of the things I like best about Mystifyed Live and everyone involved in it. The host doesn’t come first. The crew doesn’t come first. It’s the fans. The fans are what makes the show worth getting involved. Whether it’s just watching the interactions in the chatbox and on camera, or getting involved in the chatbox myself, there’s always fun to be had during a show or with the social media attached to it.

There’s only so much I have say about Mystifyed Live and those who make it all possible. The best way to fully appreciate that which is Justin The Mystifyer and his ego-approved webshow Mystifyed Live, is by giving it a chance. Do me a favor and consider tuning in one of these weeks. The show airs every Sunday night at 8PM EST/7PM CST

The show can be found along with a plethora of information about the show, crew, Justin himself, and past guests over on justinthemystifyer.com
